Our two inpatient behavioral health facilities, Atrium Health Behavioral Health Charlotte and Atrium Health Behavioral Health Davidson along with Atrium Health Behavioral Health Stanly and Atrium Health Kings Mountain are facilities of Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center. Atrium Health Behavioral Health Charlotte is home to the only dedicated psychiatric emergency departments in the region, providing treatment across the broad continuum of inpatient and outpatient services.

Programs and Services
Addiction Medicine
24/7, 11 bed detox unit, 2 outpatient clinics for all SUD (substance use disorder) diagnoses, IOP, individual sessions and comprehensive assessments for SUD.
Interventional & Neurocognitive Psychiatry
Offering treatment for depression, anxiety, OCD, through TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), ECT (electroconvulsive therapy), and Spravato (esketamine) Treatments. We also offer neurocognitive support and testing for conditions like dementia and concussion.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Atrium Health offers a full-service employee assistance program for both Atrium teammates as well as outside companies. We provide counseling, trainings, account management, leadership development and crisis response.
Inpatient Services
Atrium Health Behavioral Health Charlotte, Davidson, Kings Mountain, and Stanly are free-standing psychiatric facilities and units, consisting of 164 inpatient beds – 142 adult and 22 child/adolescent. We specialize in treatment for a variety of mental health disorders and also offer specialized care in maternal wellness.

Our skilled team of caring experts provide compassionate behavioral health care to individuals in an outpatient setting.
Psych ED
The only 24/7 psychiatric emergency department in the region that provides a comprehensive emergency assessment specializing in acute care psychiatry for both adult and pediatric populations – staffed with psychiatrists, 24/7.
