Overview
Schedules patient procedures at multiple facilities. Will be responsible for obtaining pre-authorizations for all procedures. Processes all patient forms such as FMLA, Disability and Return to Work. Will act as back up for practice assistant as workload requires. The Scheduling Coordinator acts as the primary interface between physicians and surgery centers and OR staff prior to patient procedures. This position is critical to customer service delivery to all customers both internal (staff) and external (physician office staff and patients).
Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: Minimum two years hospital or medical office experience. Knowledge of basic medical terminology and CPT coding. Minimum 1 year experience in surgery scheduling or precertification/authorizations or coding and billing
