Title: Senior Strategist, Grants & Contracts


Job Summary

Responsible for serving as the administrative and relationship manager for high-value, cross-system sponsored projects and programs supported by the department including contract management, communication, and alignment across multiple internal departments, service lines and external partners. Ensures fulfillment of contract requirements, adherence to reporting timelines and compliance requirements, and maintains communication between stakeholders which requires advanced communication and critical thinking skills, project management and reporting experience, and budget management experience.


Essential Functions

  • Responsible for contract management including compliance, reporting, timelines, and project management
  • Responsible for relationship management and maintaining communication between multiple internal departments, external partners, and funders
  • Works in collaboration with Community Health and Atrium Health Foundation leadership to support grant and donor strategy
  • Supports the development of standard operating policies and tools to streamline department functions
  • Supports long-term strategy development, financial planning, resource allocation and management
  • Supports the dissemination of evidence through academic and non-academic channels including academic journals and presenting papers at scientific meetings and forums to establish AH as a value leader nationally


Physical Requirements

Will work in office environment for preparing reports and documents or projects determined by leader.


Education, Experience and Certifications



  • Strong documentation and/or written and oral skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage and prioritize requests of multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare environment with tight deadlines.
  • Adaptability based on changing needs of the organization.
  • Strong customer service orientation


Education & Experience

Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred in business, public health, health services research, health care administration, public administration or policy and/or government studies. Minimum of two years of experience in project management, grant development, grant management, population health, community-based public health and/or a related field. Previous experience with contract management is preferred.
