Overview

Our cardiovascular ICU is a 26-bed unit primarily caring for cardiothoracic/vascular surgical patients.  CVICU teammates provide specialized intensive monitoring, including cardiac and temporary pacing monitoring.  RNs new to CVICU nursing are enrolled in the Critical Care Academy (CCA).

What you can expect:  

• The CCA is a competency-based orientation program that includes:  

  • bedside experience with a dedicated Preceptor 

  • didactic classes utilizing, in part, the Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses) 

  • seminars which help to connect the didactic learning with the clinical experience 

  • simulation labs to increase assessment, competency, and critical thinking skills.

What you will need: 

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing 

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing 

• Current valid Georgia nursing license or eNLC nursing license  

• Current nursing student who is graduating from an accredited RN education program
