Overview

The Nursing Professional Development Coordinator oversees all functions of Clinical orientation including the plan, implementations, and evaluation of the programs, serves as the Training Center Coordinator and the primary liaison with the American Heart Association for all Training Center functions, and aids in the recruiting and clinical onboarding process for the Nurse Tech and Nurse Residency programs. Additionally, this role collaborates with staff education coordinators across the system to maximize educational efforts and resources.  Primary tasks include:  orientation of new teammates to clinical areas, coordinates staff CPR education, and other special projects on an as needed basis. The Nursing Professional Development Coordinator works cooperatively with the medical staff and other hospital staff who support the care of the adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Education

1. Meets requirements for RN job description

2. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; MSN preferred

3. AHA CPR Instructor

 

B. Experience

1. Minimum of 2 years experience as clinical nurse

2. Experience in computer word processing, esp. Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

 

C. Licensure/Certification

1. Current RN licensure in the state of Georgia

 

D. Interpersonal requirements

1. Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, has a commitment to customer service.

2. Communicates effectively with all applicable customers and age groups.

3. Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment
