Overview
This position is Sign-on Bonus eligible. Experienced RNs with a minimum of 1 year of experience are eligible for a bonus of $20,000 for Full Time positions, and $10,00 for Part Time positions. 3 Tower is a 36-bed surgical/medical oncology unit at Carolinas Medical Center that cares for patients with solid tumors. Surgery specialty include GYN oncology and Breast cancer patients. Nurses provide chemotherapy, post-op care, and manage complex medical care for their patients. Patients often have multiple visits, which allows for the team to become familiar with and form a bond with them. Nurses with previous experience will qualify for Oncology specialty certification after 1 year and be checked off on providing chemo during orientation.
CMC serves as the region’s only Level 1 trauma center and is an approved transplant center for heart, kidney, pancreas and liver. Job Summary
Responsible for the direct provision of patient care and for assisting the manager with daily operations to include but not limited to coordination of patient care/outcomes, allocation of human and fiscal resources, communications, patient throughput, program development and oversight, patient, physician and employee rounding, selection, development, and retention of staff, clinical supervision and performance appraisal, performance improvement activities, service recovery and compliance with regulatory agency requirements. Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the population of patients served.
