Overview

Job Summary

Manages dispatch operations and transportation coordination services of both ground and air in the Communications Center. Air transportation includes rotor wing, fixed wing, Ground Critical Care, ALS, BLS, Passenger and Neonate transport. Assists in the development and implementation of the Transfer Center and close coordination of the Atrium Health Regional Referral Line/Transfer Center. Maintains compliance with all regulatory agencies.



Essential Functions

  • Ensures efficient and safe operations of the Communication/Transport crews.
  • Manages the scheduling and coordination of dispatch services.
  • Trains and ensures competency of dispatchers.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of the Transfer Center.
  • Ensures communication and dispatch systems are operational.

Physical Requirements

8, 10, or 12-Hour Shifts. Each employee has the responsibility to work in a safe manner. Work requires frequent communication and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to handle stress, coordinate, and communicate with persons in various disciplines and agencies.



Education, Experience and Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Management, Communication, or Logistics. 2 + years in an aeromedical communication or dispatch center. Computer and radio communications experience. Current, EMT – Basic or above within 1 year of hire. IAMTCS Communicator Training Course preferred. FAA Certificate in (one) dispatch, Air Traffic Control or Pilot.
