Overview

Surgical Trauma ICU is a 14-bed clinical unit caring primarily for a variety of patients with surgical and traumatic injuries and/or impairments.  This unit offers specialized, continuous nursing care for critically ill or injured patients who can benefit from either intensive monitoring and/or intensive treatment.  RNs new to critical care nursing are enrolled in the Critical Care Academy (CCA).

What you can expect:  

• The CCA is a competency-based orientation program that includes:  

  • bedside experience with a dedicated Preceptor 

  • didactic classes utilizing, in part, the Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses) 

  • seminars which help to connect the didactic learning with the clinical experience 

  • simulation labs to increase assessment, competency, and critical thinking skills.

What you will need: 

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; RN graduates are welcome to apply 

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing 

• Current valid Georgia nursing license or eNLC nursing license  

• Current nursing student graduating from an accredited RN education program are welcome to apply.
