Under the direction of the Practice Leader or Practice Administrator, performs patient scheduling and registration, performs charge and payment posting, discharges patients, collects fees, completes End of Day reconciliation processes, orders supplies, answers telephone, relays messages, and various other receptionist duties. Manages and safeguards cash and other forms of payment, Enters ICD-10 and CPT codes into billing system.
EDUCATION: High school graduate or GED equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Twelve months previous patient registration and billing experience in a physician office required. Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD and CPT coding, and general office procedures required. Must be able to type 40 wpm and have computer experience with contemporary office based products such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and physician office registration and scheduling systems.
Certification/License/Registration: Medical Billing/Coding certificate strongly preferred
