Overview
Research Assistant Professor position available at Levine Cancer Institute, Atrium Health, Charlotte, NC. The Hematologic Oncology Translation Research Laboratory at Levine Cancer Institute is staffed by three scientists, two technicians, and two clinical coordinators. The lab is fully equipped to perform cell processing, cellular immune-phenotypic isolations, molecular/cellular biology, biochemical analysis, and tissue culture. The lab also has access to the immunology and molecular biology core facilities as well as the animal facility for preclinical studies. The work will be focused on the development of novel cellular immunotherapies. Concurrent appointment at Wake Forest School of Medicine is available as an adjunct faculty position.
Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Research Assistant Professor is to conduct research related to therapies for lymphoma and other hematologic malignancies in collaboration with physicians.
Essential Functions
Works in a fast-paced research and administrative environment. This position requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, lift, speak, hear, and use telephone. Is responsible for working in a safe manner.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Ph.D. degree in a relevant field required with evidence of relevant publications. Track record of external funding preferred but not required. Could be recent graduate, but 3 years of relevant experience preferred. Candidate should hold a PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, immunology, or chemical engineering. He/she should have experience with cellular immunotherapy, and/or small animal work preferred. Postdoctoral experience preferred. The research assistant professor will conduct research under the guidance of Director of Hematologic Malignancies.
