Job Summary
The Assistant Vice President, Laboratory Services is a regional leader who is responsible for all testing and testing-related diagnostic laboratory services to Atrium Health within Macon and Rome, Georgia Regions. The Assistant Vice President directs the laboratory entities within the defined scope by formulating goals, establishing standards of practice, providing oversight of quality (proficiency testing, chemical hygiene, and safety programs), achieving service levels goals, providing direction for the technical operations, regulatory compliance, and accreditation programs and advancing the strategic direction for laboratory services within the region. In addition to oversight of daily operations, the Assistant Vice President, Laboratory Services is responsible for physician and nursing relations and the coordination of laboratory services with clinical programs and service lines.
These services are provided at Atrium Health hospital laboratories, community-based health pavilions, outpatient clinics, patient service centers, private physician offices and affiliated healthcare facilities.

Physical Requirements
Works in a busy environment; works in an area which consists of infectious materials, chemical hazards, and fire and mechanical hazards; works in an analytical, physical and managerial environment. Normal attention and use of eyes, hands and voice. Some walking, standing, sitting, talking, listening, writing and occasional lifting of light objects. Must have good visual acuity.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Medical Technologist (ASCP) preferred. Master’s Degree or 8 years’ experience in management and supervision required.
