Job SummaryThe AVP Planning, Design and Construction is responsible for building partner's relationships, providing multi-disciplinary leadership and managing cross-functional communication. Demonstrates strategic guidance in anticipating future consequences and trends and incorporates them into the organizational plan. Oversees operating budget creation and execution; optimizing resources and return on investment while creating business value.
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds shoulder high. Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch and finger dexterity. Critical thinking and ability to concentrate for long periods of time. Must be able to respond quickly and appropriately in stressful situations.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management from an accredited college or university required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum ten years of planning, design, and construction management experience.
Superior relationship management skills: strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all leadership levels. Excellent ability to collaborate with others, work independently or as part of a team, initiate action, adapt to change, make difficult decisions, solve problems, and accept challenging assignments. Proven leadership skills including leading people, driving change and innovation, creating and sustaining partnerships, and focusing on results. Creativity, critical thinking skills, high energy, disciplined organizational skills, and a corporate entrepreneurial spirit are necessary. Knowledge of Operational Excellence principles such as Lean/Six Sigma; capable of visualizing the linkages between component parts of the whole and connecting the dots that lead to the desired outcome.
