Overview

JOB SUMMARY:

Candidate will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of strategic plans, tools, and platforms for communication, education, and training primarily for the Enterprise Compliance, Privacy and ERM Offices. Candidate will serve as an Enterprise-wide resource on issues related to compliance, privacy, and ERM matters, and will be charged with elevating awareness, understanding, and engagement in the designated risk programs and issues throughout the Enterprise and in all markets.  Candidate will work closely with multiple teams and all levels of leadership.

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration or related field of study or equivalent experience is require. Master's degree in Communications, Marketing, Organizational Communication, or Education or related field of study is strongly preferred. Five years' experience working in communications, education, and engagement management is preferred  with experience in healthcare compliance, privacy, risk, or organizational development preferred.

 

REPORTS TO:

Deputy Chief Compliance Officer and Vice President SUPPORTS:  Chief Compliance & Privacy Officer and Senior Vice President; Deputy Chief Compliance Officer and Vice President; Compliance and Privacy Education Committees

 

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:

Certified in Health Care Compliance or Privacy is a plus

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Champions a proactive and collaborative approach to create, develop, and maintain educational communications, materials and content that promote continuing awareness and understanding of the compliance, privacy, risk, and ethics programs and activities throughout the Enterprise (including federal, state, and local laws / regulations influencing the programs).
  2. Works in conjunction with and in support of other colleagues to design, develop, and launch high-quality communication and learning experiences, including creating innovative educational tools, resources, and videos that promote and advance participation in the designated programs, educate on compliance matters and regulatory changes, or promote educational points of interest.
  3. Gathers, analyzes, and reports on metrics to measure scope and impact of communications and to identify additional education and outreach opportunities. 
  4. Collaborates closely with each designated department’s staff to develop, design, revise, and maintain multiple integrated websites and SharePoint sites. Includes creating appropriate website content aligned to departmental strategy and organizational standards, as well as creating strategies to grow subscriber base and drive web traffic.
  5. Serves as instructional designer and education facilitator, innovator, and researcher to develop, design, and maintain web-based compliance and other educational training modules, videos, communications, eForms, and other tools based on stakeholder type for enhanced learning experiences.
  6. Fosters a continuous improvement mindset to work with multiple departments and subject matter experts throughout the Enterprise to identify educational needs and target audiences; build and design tools across different educational platforms; create engaging learning activities; and design communications on specific and relevant topics.
  7. Supports designated teams and leaders by creating PowerPoints and other presentation tools for a variety of topics and audiences.   
  8. Supports designated teams in conducting new employee orientation / training / education weekly and as requested, specific educational seminars for senior management, department heads, faculty, executive committees, management, and staff as needed.
  9. Develops, designs, and implements routine and special communications from the Department to faculty and staff of Atrium Health, such as newsletters, bulletins, announcements, direct communications, and awareness campaigns (e.g., Compliance Week Functions, etc.) to ensure a holistic view that considers broad organizational priorities and external insights.
  10. Stays abreast of federal, state, local and institutional laws / regulations / policies to facilitate accurate and current training, education, and monitoring activities initiatives.

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills, including public speaking to facilitate training / education is required.

Proven education and training background including development and delivery of presentations and written summaries to employees ranging from support staff to physicians and executives is required. Candidates should be prepared to submit portfolio of work upon request.

Strong computer skills, including using graphic tools, publishing software, and video creation software are required, including Animaker or comparable video design platform.  Strong skills in word processing and Excel are required.

Direct experience in SharePoint design and maintenance is required. Experience with Office 365 Suite is required, including eForms, Stream, and OneDrive. 

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills are required.   

Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and laws that impact healthcare is a plus.

Flexible and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with enthusiasm and positive approach are required.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Traditional clean, well-lit, climate-controlled environment. Frequent employee and professional contact. Pace of work is busy and can be challenging.

Candidate may be based in Charlotte, Winston-Salem or Georgia.
