Sr Procurement Agent - FT

Overview

Job Summary

Provides direction, leadership, and supervision to buyers and buyer specialists within the department. Supports purchasing operations by monitoring daily performance and service levels within the department. Provides routine and ad hoc reports that indicate operational department efficiency to department leadership, as required.

Essential Functions

• Manages team, monitors individuals performance, quality, quantity and adherence to standard work, approves time, performs hiring, coaching, counseling and disciplinary actions as required and performance evaluations.
• Creates, monitors and reports key performance indicators.
• Continual improvement – Leads advanced practical problem solving to include A3.
• Plans own work effort based on work tasks and gives guidance to work efforts of individual members of the team.
• Utilizes specific department productivity tool to ensure team members are meeting requirements based on activities in department.
• Ensures training occurs for new team members to ensure optimal efficiency on all aspects of their job.
• Consistently seek opportunities to improve performance and reduce costs.

Physical Requirements

May include high stress and time sensitive deadlines. Must be able to prioritize appropriately. Fast pace office environment. Substantial amount of time will be spent at construction sites.

Education, Experience and Certifications

High School Diploma with 7 years of procurement or project management experience, or Associates Degree with 5 years procurement experience, or Bachelor's Degree required. 3 years as a Buyer Specialist within the System is preferred. Medical product, equipment and the System/GPO contract knowledge, as well as a strong understanding of department operations and the correlating metrics is required. CMRP (Certified Materials Resource Professional) a preferred. GHX Order Manager Certification preferred.
