Performs advanced clinical and technical tasks in the care of kidney failure patients. Sets up and operates hemodialysis equipment to provide dialysis treatments in the critical care setting. Programs and monitors equipment for safe and proper patient care. Provides continual assessment, feedback and care of the critically ill patient during dialysis, under the direction of the RN. Responds to alarms appropriately and maintains supplies within the dialysis unit. Makes repairs on equipment as neede.
What is Required:
High school diploma or GED Graduate in addition to advanced education specializing in nephrology, LPN, or other licensed person with these skills preferred.
Must have completed training program for dialysis technician or dialysis LPN and have water treatment experience of at least two years.
