Atrium Health Weight Management with multiple locations in the Charlotte, NC area is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join its current team of 5 Bariatric Surgeons and 2 APP’s. If it's possible, you will find it at Atrium Health- the leading community focused academic healthcare academic system serving North Carolina and South Carolina.
Atrium Health Weight Management is a large multidisciplinary weight management program that has 4 offices with the greater Charlotte region, 2 designated MBSAQIP centers of excellence and a large multi-disciplinary team to serve patients with Obesity and Obesity related medical conditions. Our team includes 5 metabolic and bariatric surgeons, 5 Obesity medicine specialists, as well as bariatric surgery fellows, surgery residents, nurses, dietitians, clinical reviewers, exercise physiologists, a psychologist, and a bariatric coordinator.
This full-time position includes:
Provides services in inpatient, outpatient, endoscopy and operating room setting caring for acute and chronically ill or injured patients. May perform minimally to advanced invasive procedures and must be primarily first-assisting a surgeon in complex surgical cases. In addition, providers perform band adjustment under fluoroscopy.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Must have or be eligible for a DEA license. Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state one works. Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in NC required. BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice. Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and make proactive decisions. Three years of relative experience and/or surgical background preferred.
