Overview

Job Summary

Evaluates, plans, directs, and administers programs of Audiology upon referral by the physician. Coordinates the management of adult and pediatric auditory and vestibular disorders.



Essential Functions

  • Develops and implements a plan of care to meet patient needs, to include planning and utilization of available resources.
  • Demonstrates clinical reasoning, coupled with clinical skills to conduct accurate clinical assessments and perform patient care activities; evaluates effectiveness of interventions, identifies and priorities patient strengths, needs and priorities.
  • Provides leadership support.

Physical Requirements

Requires hearing (corrected) adequate for oral/aural communication. Requires vision (corrected) adequate for reading. Requires intelligible speech and normal language/cognitive skills. Requires ability to push patients in a wheelchair or stretchers. Requires lifting of patients, equipment, or supplies. Required to lift up to 20 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds occasionally, and up to 100 pounds infrequently. Requires sitting, standing, and walking. Requires occasional stair climbing, kneeling, twisting, and bending. Requires occasional crouching, crawling and reaching overhead. Requires ability to transfer patients. Required to demonstrate any appropriate exercise and activities to patients/caregivers. Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals, blood, and body fluids.



Education, Experience and Certifications

Requires Master's Degree in Audiology or a Clinical Doctorate from an accredited Audiology program. Requires NC license in Audiology. Requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association or eligibility to obtain certificate. Prefer a minimum of 10 months experience. Requires Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA.
