Overview

Job Summary

The student success coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive academic success program and for making data-driven recommendations to improve student success, engage faculty in strategies to promote program completion, and to develop student skills to further their education and career. The coordinator will work collaboratively with faculty and staff across the college to effectively implement and promote student success strategies.

 

Essential Functions

  • Promotes the College’s core values and standards of excellence through respectful communication, maintenance of a safe and professional environment, synergistic partnership with those we serve, and anticipation of students’, colleagues’ and customers’ needs.
  • Coordinates academic support services utilizing data, research, and best practices to inform institutional policies and procedures.
  • Partners with faculty and program chairs to effectively identify and implement student success and retention strategies.
  • Coordinates activities and services to enhance student retention, program completion, and career planning.
  • Maintains professional competence, including system- and college-assigned requirements.
Physical Requirements

Works in office environment with some travel. Requires walking (15%); standing and bending for filing (20%); and sitting--driving, telephone, personal counseling, and typing--(65%). Responsible for working in a safe manner.


Education, Experience and Certifications

Bachelor's Degree in related field required. Master's Degree preferred. Experience in higher education and student services preferred. Excellent communication, computer, and organization and time management skills required.
