Overview

Job Summary

Located in the heart of Center City Charlotte, Atrium Health's Levine Cancer Institute is the largest radiation oncology practice in the greater Charlotte market. This practice has three linear accelerators, a robust brachytherapy program with an onsite brachytherapy suite, performs radiopharmaceutical administration, treats pediatric patients, and is staffed by 5 radiation oncologists. The Administrative Director directs the general management of the department, including budgeting, personnel, patient care procedures, planning and other daily operations. Acts as a liaison between staff, physicians, hospital administration, Physics and Computer Planning, Inc., IS Department, and outside regulatory agencies. Manages capital equipment and strategic planning.



Essential Functions

  • Ensures unit operations and employees are in compliance with policies and procedures defined by the System and all applicable regulatory agency standards.
  • Organizes and coordinates all functions to provide for a smooth cost effective operation and allocates resources as necessary.
  • Accepts responsibility in the recruitment, interview, selection and retention of qualified personnel.
  • Promotes staff development through education, performance evaluation and identification of goals to enhance growth.
  • Functions as a team member to accomplish goals of department and the System
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Conducts staff meetings at appropriate intervals to exchange information and promote dialogue.
  • Maintains clinical proficiency and assists with treatments or procedures as necessary, per license and competency.

     

Physical Requirements
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stopping, bending, pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 75 lbs. in handling patients, medical equipment and supplies. Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch and finger dexterity. Must be able to respond quickly and make decisions to changes in unit.



Education, Experience and Certifications

Graduate from AMA accredited school of Therapeutic Radiology or Bachelor's Degree required. Minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory role preferred. Additional courses in business or personnel management preferred.
