Overview

Job Summary

Directs, promotes and implements human resource programs and procedures to help align leadership and teammates with the strategic goals. This HR Director supports our Teammate Relations function and will work closely with the Assistant Vice President, Teammate Relations and will manage a team of Teammate Relations Advisors. This is a broad leadership role which involves overseeing the policy review committee, executing workforce impact processes, conducting touchpoint surveys, supporting enterprise labor relations strategy, managing the executive response process, and developing internal procedures for the Teammate Relations team. 

Essential Functions

  • Directs, coordinates, implements, executes, and controls and completes overall of specific projects ensuring consistency with company commitments and goals.
  • Directs the preparation and maintenance of such reports to carry out the functions of the division. Prepares reports for leadership, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment.
  • Directs the day to day operations through a team members to ensure timely, accurate, efficient and courteous Human Resources (HR) services in a cost effective manner.
  • Develops organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction; establishing human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives
  • Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values.
  • Collaborates with division leaders and other Human Resources teammates to promote efficiency and analyzes current and future needs of the system.
  • Updates leaders regarding relevant HR initiatives. Attends facility leadership meetings on a regular basis to provide updates on human resources issues, policies and procedures.
  • Provides group and one-on-one coaching with operations leadership as well as team members to support leadership development, business decision-making, human resources management, and problem solving and performance management.
  • Plays a consultative role in communication initiatives within HR division.

Additional Essential Functions

  • Drives development, research, benchmarking, updating, consolidating teammate-friendly and forward-looking policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with leaders, communications team and human resources business partners to socialize, develop and implement policies.
  • Investigates high level reports of policy violations and responds to agency complaints.
  • Assists AVP with development and implementation of Teammate Relations best practices, processes and procedures to drive department efficiencies.
  • Assists AVP with development of case tracking model, goals, budget, SLAs and KPIs for the department.
  • Helps facilitate gathering of information to identify trends with teammate issues.
  • Partners with internal and outside legal counsel as needed.
  • Manages a team of four direct reports.
  • Serves as leader in the absence of the AVP.
     
Physical Requirements
Work requires typing, filing, use of telephone and sitting for prolonged periods of time. Stretching, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling are required a moderate amount of the time. May lift and carry up to 40 pounds on an intermittent basis. Some standing and walking is required. Must speak and understand English fluently. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate and concentrate effectively. Good hearing is required for related communications.


Education, Experience and Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least five years of related teammate/employee relations experience required. 
  • Seven years of Human Resources leadership experience required;  MBA or relevant advanced degree from an accredited educational institution strongly preferred. 
  • HR Certification and experience working for a large, multi-state employer a plus.
  • Very strong investigation, issue spotting, responsiveness and analysis skills required.
  • Management, delegation, leadership, and organizational skills required. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills required.
  • Significant experience leading process improvement and change management required.
