What you will do:

The Throughput Navigation Coordinator works in a fast-paced telephone intake call center environment. With minimum supervision, the Navigation Throughput Coordinator (NTC) effectively coordinates requests with patient needs to ensure proper utilization of hospital resources and enhance throughput times. The NTC determining the most suitable placement based on the patient’s level of care needed while maintaining system throughput. The NTC prepares, manages, and communicates the census and demand throughout the 24hour period. The NTC maintains and monitors diversion status and oversees the coordination of the death notification process. Assists the Intake Nurse with the screening of calls into the Transfer Center as well as assisting with the facilitation of trauma transfers. Works with UR and Nursing to identify areas where discharges are needed to handle incoming bed demands. Employee must react quickly to changes in operation based on system demand. Must also be familiar with all aspects of Soarian Financials and Carelogsitics as they assist internal areas with troubleshooting issues. Employee must be positive, well organized, a patient advocate, and self-motivated. The Throughput Coordinator is also responsible for other tasks associated with an intake center that is open 24/7.

What you will need:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years of experience in Business, Healthcare, Insurance, Financial, or Customer Service related field.
  • CPAR, CHAA, FC or Patient Access certification required within 2 years of hire.
