Job Summary
Creates and maintains supply chain master data records in Oracle Cloud system.  Responsible for researching items, gathering standard data attributes, preparing uploads, and changing records in the system to enable purchasing, inventory, and clinical documentation.  Uses reports to analyze data quality, compare records, and create action plans to improve the accuracy and completeness of data.  Works with contracts teams, buyers, and end users to resolve issues relating to master data problems.  Problem solver who understands how their work impacts larger processes and end using customers.  Uses third party systems to gather standard product attributes and enforces data standards.  Occasionally tasked with system clean up initiatives that require complex analyses across multiple data sources to determine action plans for improvement.

Essential Functions

  • Gathers data from third party solutions to build and update supply items in Oracle Cloud.  Supply items are used for purchasing, inventory management, and interfacing to other systems.
  • Uses Excel-based file uploads to update Oracle Cloud’s item master and pricing data.
  • Experience with hospital supply chain management systems like Oracle Cloud (preferred), Peoplesoft, Lawson, or other similar systems a plus.
  • Some knowledge of the healthcare supply chain a plus.
  • Creative problem solver; able to suggest alternative solutions and brainstorm.
  • Able to "gut check" data against real-life understanding of how the business works
  • Able to maintain data integrity while extracting and manipulating from one system to another
  • Advanced Excel skills - creative and appropriate application of formulas and functions like VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Text formulas (MID, LEN, LEFT, RIGHT, SEARCH), and logical formulas (IF, AND, OR, SUMIF, COUNTIF, etc.)
  • General understanding of relational databases - conceptual understanding of Joins, Keys, and query design.  No need to be an expert, but understanding concepts are important.
  • Possesses research and auditing skills to find and diagnose errors
  • Able to multi-task while still maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong translator of stakeholder needs to master data processes
  • Appropriately questions the status quo and constantly looks for opportunities to improve team processes
  • Project management - able to be the face of the master data team to external stakeholders and lead projects to completion
  • Use and develop analytics to measure accuracy and efficiency of master data team
Physical Requirements

Stretching and bending required to access files and assist in conducting physical inventories. Manual dexterity for keying and retrieving data from automated systems. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. May lift up to twenty pounds occasionally. Must be able to handle varied, time sensitive and stressful tasks and assign priorities and individuals appropriately.

Education, Experience and Certifications

Bachelor's Degree with courses in healthcare, supply chain, accounting, economics, and business law or 3 years of demonstrated, progressive work experience in healthcare supply chain/procurement required. Experience within healthcare procurement, contracting, or data management is preferred. Master's Degree, CMRP, or other related certification a plus. Strong user of Microsoft Excel, including key functions such as VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, text manipulation formulas, IF, and Pivot Tables is required. Some understanding of relational database concepts is a plus.  Prior experience with common healthcare supply chain systems such as Peoplesoft, Oracle Cloud, Lawson, or others is strongly preferred
