DMC has an aICU with open ICU concept
MD would be responsible for all admitted hospitalist patients overnight which includes but is not limited to the following:
- Responding to and managing any Rapid Responses or Codes
- Assessing patients and developing appropriate plans as needed for any acute events of changes in patient status
- Coordinating with nursing staff and responding to questions/concerns as needed
- Providing appropriate hand-off/sign-out at the conclusion of their shift to the day team
- Determine patients that require transfer to tertiary hospital and contacting PAL line to facilitate
