Job Summary

Provides leadership and oversight for the implementation of purchased services contracts that will help Atrium Health manage and reduce over $1B in non-payroll spend by working with various team members across the broad spectrum of Atrium Health regardless of domain. This includes all elements of contract implementation while also supporting the other elements of our contracting life cycle. The Project Manager will also support the PSVO AVP in driving the change management principles that are critical to the success of any contract implementation in which the customer will be impacted by a change in vendor, process or metrics. A full set of skills associated with change management, project management, lean/six sigma will need to be applied across the full spectrum of work within Atrium Health.

Essential Functions

  • Develops implementation specifications based on complexity of purchased services contracts category from initiation to delivery.
  • Responsible for implementing purchased services contracts across Atrium Health and the Alliance where applicable.
  • Defines scope of efforts required to meet objectives and develop comprehensive and predictable implementation schedules. This also includes analyzing, reviewing and forecasting implementation expenditures.
  • Prepares, maintains and updates project plans, agenda, set-up for implementation. This includes determining project steps, activities, the sequence of implementation, critical success paths, dependencies and duration of tasks.
  • Ensures that implementation plans address all standards outlined in the contract (including but not limited to quality, regulatory, patient safety, cost and performance standards), are designed with the end-users, and are sensitive to the realities of the current work while investigating the realities of the impact of change on the new scope of work which then assures contract specification are met or exceeded by the end-users to assure optimal value realization.
  • Identifies and acquires appropriate resources needed, ensuring availability necessary for project deliverables. Manages resources within respective departments, outside service providers as well as materials committed to the implementations.
  • Visits and serves as a hands-on Project Manager to various implementation sites throughout various implementation processes.
  • Coordinates all implementation project matters and monitors progress daily. Elevates issues as appropriate and on a timely basis to the PSVO AVP.

Physical Requirements

Stretching and bending required to access files and assist in conducting physical inventories. Manual dexterity for keying and retrieving data from automated systems. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. May lift to twenty pounds occasionally. Must be able to handle many varied, time sensitive and stressful tasks and assign priorities and individuals appropriately.

Education, Experience and Certifications

Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare or related field required. Master's degree in business or related field preferred. Five years or more of contract implementation or healthcare materials management experience preferred. Team lead or supervisory experience required. Leading complex teams across multiple sites or departments is also recommended. Extensive knowledge of change/project management – standards, processes, procedures and guidelines, organization, schedule creation and management, collaboration, and project status reporting skills required. Project management / change management / Lean management certification is preferred.
