Job Summary 
Coordinates and maintains all aspects of Medical Education IT, computer labs, study rooms, and audiovisual equipment. Participates in planning, implementation, and evaluation activities as well as instruction in educational software and resources. 

Essential Functions 

  • Actively participates in functional group meetings, assigned committee meetings and in medical education functions.
  • Responds to inquiries and requests for assistance with computer / AV systems from students and faculty.  Coordinates with the Medical Education Technologist to identify problems, troubleshoot issues and provide solutions to assist users.
  • Assists in competency development.  Coordinates and supports computer competency testing for all program students.  Assist with computer-assisted instruction courses in Canvas and evaluations in WakeTrack.
  • Provides back-up for the Medical Education Technologist with video production for the creation of educational material as needed.
  • Assists the Medical Education Technologist in maintaining audiovisual equipment rooms in a neat and organized manner, collaborating with other IT and A/V personnel.
  • Maintains computer laboratory and coordinates activities in the laboratory.
  • Assists in maintenance and usage of Zoom, WebEx, Teams and other educational platforms.

Physical Requirements

This position requires full range body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Work requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Educational Experience

Associates Degree in Computer Science, Education Media Specialist, Information Services, Technology, Audio Visual Services or related field. Experience with Distance education preferred. Must have experience in Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2000, 2007 is required. Two years’ experience in computer hardware and software training preferred.
