Job Summary
Participates in the provision of pharmaceutical care through work at a non-profit pharmacy (HealthQuest of Union County) that partners with Atrium Health. Reviews physician orders for drug therapies and monitors therapies for appropriate drug and dosage, drug/drug, drug/food interactions, adverse medication events, formulary compliance; serves as drug information resource to physicians, nurses and other disciplines.

Physical Requirements
Requires considerable walking, standing, pushing mobile cart(s) of up to 50 pounds’ maximum and lifting to 25 pounds’ maximum. Exposure to hazards is minor.

Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.

Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy required; PharmD preferred. Licensed in North Carolina or eligible for licensure via reciprocity required. Previous hospital experience preferred. Demonstrates competency in all aspects of medication therapy management and dispensing functions including but not limited to order entry in Cerner PharmNet system, documentation of clinical interventions, IV admixture preparation, The Joint Commission Standards compliance. Prefer retail experience and QS/1 pharmacy software is helpful. Previous hospital experience preferred
