Overview

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The position will lead virtual and immersive educational technologies and methodologies within the organization. This position includes overseeing the strategic planning and execution of the VITAL (Virtual Immersive Teaching and Learning) program, promoting collaboration, integrating virtual and immersive learning solutions across all educational and clinical programs, and developing a Metaversity ecosystem. The Director will handle budget, vendor relations, data analysis to improve the effectiveness and usage of these technologies and will oversee faculty development to optimize integration of these tools. 

Major Responsibilities

  • Research and Product Interface: Conduct research on the latest immersive learning products and technologies. Interface with industry leaders and vendors to identify solutions that align with institutional needs. Manage contracting and vendor relationships
  • Networking and relationship building: Develop and maintain a robust stakeholder network to gain buy in from faculty and learners. Organize and present findings, product options, and implementation strategies to key stakeholders and champions within the organization
  • Industry Partnership Development: Establish and nurture partnerships with industry leaders to enhance and create opportunities for learners. This includes negotiating contracts with vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement of immersive learning products and services.
  • Faculty Development: Oversee the planning and delivery of faculty development opportunities related to immersive learning technologies and methodologies
  • Team and Operational Management: Manage a team of professionals to operationalize the vision and strategy of the immersive learning program. Provide support and guidance to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Assess the effectiveness of processes and implement improvements to enhance overall program efficiency and impact. 
  • Education and IT Interface: Interface with education teams (clinical faculty) and IT departments to ensure seamless integration and support of immersive learning technologies
  • Outcome Analysis and Reporting: Analyze and report on the use and outcomes of immersive learning technologies. Use data to inform continuous quality improvement (CQI) efforts. 
  • Strategic Leadership and Management: Guide the overall strategic direction of the VITAL program. Oversee the development and implementation of innovative programs and initiatives. 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelors degree required; in field of Technology, healthcare, education or computer science

Certification / Registration / License

Work Experience

Seven years; progressive leadership experience in a complex environment with multiple locations or regions, preferably in healthcare; experience with education, academics, immersive learning technologies and methodologies

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions. 
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Exposed to a normal office environment.

Education
