Overview

Join our team as a Radiologic Technologist and bring your expertise in medical imaging to the forefront of patient care. 

Radiologic Technologists at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist perform diagnostic x-ray procedures using state-of-the-art technology to produce quality images, while adhering to safety guidelines with a focus on limited radiation exposure. Radiologic Technologists have the unique opportunity to collaborate with and assist Radiologists & other Physicians with procedures and contribute to managing the patient schedule and other essential clerical tasks as needed.

Position Highlights: 

  • Shift Schedule: 34 hours per week, day shift, weekdays and alternating weekends.
  • Sign-On Bonus: This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000, provided the candidate meets the eligibility requirements as a new hire ($10,000 for new Rad Tech graduates).
  • Location: Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, Urgent Care-Pisgah Church in Greensboro, NC

What You Will Need:

  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology Program
  • Registered & Certified with the ARRT or Registry Eligible & Certified within 1 year of hire
  • Valid CPR Certification – BCLS
  • Preferred - 6 Months Experience as a Diagnostic Rad Tech
  • Preferred – 1 year of experience working with patients.
  • Able to communicate professionally, both written and orally, with physicians, nurses, and other professionals
  • Effective time management & clinical skills to successfully prioritize patient needs and maintain daily schedule, while keeping up with frequent workload changes and competing demands 

Job Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):

  • Cooperative Work Environment: Upholds hospital standards, fostering cooperation through effective communication, teamwork, and compliance with policies; Collaborates with colleagues to effectively achieve work goals.
  • Equipment Expertise: Actively seeks education to contribute to service quality; Remain informed of current procedures, policies, regulations, equipment, and systems; complete annual and point-of-care testing and competencies as required.
  • Diagnostic & Therapeutic Procedures: Performs or assists with procedures and scans, while adhering to radiation regulations and following safety guidelines.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Ensures the readiness of equipment and supplies in case an emergency arises, responds appropriately to potential crises.
  • Accurate Record Keeping: Ensures precise patient records through correct data entry, analyzation, and image archival, while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Patient & Colleague Coaching: Provides instruction, education, and consultation to healthcare personnel and patients, promoting improved patient care quality and outcomes; Delivers age and developmentally appropriate care & education in accordance to patient care guidelines.
  • On-Call Coverage: Provides emergency coverage as needed, outside of normal working hours as necessary. 

This role involves maintaining a clean work area but carries inherent risks, including exposure to infections, bloodborne diseases, hazardous substances, and radiation. It also entails handling emergency situations, working irregular hours, and being available for short-notice absentee replacement.
