Overview
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced general/community radiologist. This candidate would support our community hospitals, and outpatient imaging centers/clinics. This position is ideally suited for a radiologist who values a broad skill set and is proficient in multiple modalities, such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and mammograms. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Image Interpretation: Interpret medical images from various modalities to diagnose conditions.
Diagnostic Reporting: Prepare detailed and comprehensive diagnostic reports based on your interpretations of imaging studies. Ensure that reports are clear, concise, and provide clinically relevant information to assist referring physicians in patient management.
Consultation and Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with referring physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging findings, provide consultation, and assist in developing appropriate treatment plans for patients.
Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of diagnostic accuracy and quality assurance in interpreting imaging studies. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer review processes to ensure the highest level of patient care.
Continuing Education: Stay updated with the latest advancements, techniques, and guidelines in breast imaging through continuous education (CME) and participation in relevant conferences, workshops, and seminars.
Patient Care: Provide clear explanations of procedures and findings to patients and address any concerns or questions they may have.
Adherence to Regulatory Guidelines: Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines, standards, and protocols related to medical imaging, patient safety, and data confidentiality.
Equipment Maintenance: Collaborate with the technical staff to ensure proper maintenance and calibration of imaging equipment used for imaging studies, ensuring optimal image quality and diagnostic accuracy.
Teamwork and Professional Development: Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment by actively participating in team meetings, case discussions, and professional development activities. Mentor and support junior staff and residents in their training and development in breast imaging.
Requirements:
MD or DO Degree required.
Qualified Candidates must be Board Certified (or eligible) by the American Board of Radiology or equivalent and licensed (or eligible) to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina.
