Overview

JOB SUMMARY

Under administrative review, performs management level work directed toward the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the assigned project(s).    Requires the use of judgment and discretion in performing the assigned duties and responsibilities related to the project. Ensures efficient data management and manages compliance by working with IRB, IACUC, COI, ACURO and OHRO. 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, bioengineering or related fields. 
  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business, finance or related field preferred.
  • Two years’ relevant administrative experience in managing research projects or other health-related activities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and internal/external customer service skills required. Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail. 
  • Experience with computerized databases (e.g., Microsoft Excel), word processing (e.g., Microsoft Word), and presentation software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint), project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project).
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities/deadlines. 

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION

Certified project management professional preferred with a background in science or medicine.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Assists with the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of certain phases of the assigned project(s). 
  2. Participates in program evaluation by collecting and analyzing data in support of key performance metrics. 
  3. Assists with review of scientific reports as needed.
  4. Ensures that all services provided are following applicable standards and regulations.
  5. Assist with the review and preparation of reports for research projects and coordinating site.
  6. Develop and assist with the management of budgets.
  7. Assist with the development of computerized methods for monitoring and reporting on various program aspects.
  8. Coordinate human use and animal use approval documents.  Maintain files and a tracking system for document submission, revision, and approval.
  9. Coordinate project meetings, create meeting agendas, attend and provide minutes for internal review and submission to the government.
  10. Develop tracking system of program milestones for the coordinating center and for individual science projects. 
  11. Act as liaison with project PIs to assist them with development of reports.
  12. Represents and supports the WFIRM Programs Management Officer at designated meetings and conference related to work scope. 
  13. Assists with monitoring the project budget(s). Compiles and prepares financial progress reports. 
  14. Assist in creation and review of coordinating center and sub-awardee monthly invoices.
  15. Tracks payments by sponsors, assuring correct amount received for each participant and testing
  16. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Hybrid work environment – remote and WFIRM office.  Clean, well-lit office environment.
