Overview

Job Summary:
Performs various food service duties, including food preparation, serving, dishwashing, and transportation. Provides excellent customer service and may operate a cash register.

Education/Experience:

  • High school enrollment, diploma, or GED required.
  • Food service or customer service experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure food quality, recipe compliance, and adherence to guidelines.
  2. Meet productivity, delivery, and serving schedules.
  3. Minimize waste and control costs by following portion guidelines.
  4. Maintain and clean equipment and dish areas efficiently.
  5. Deliver excellent customer service to patients and visitors.
  6. Uphold high sanitation standards and meet health inspection ratings.
  7. Follow safety and sanitation rules to maintain a safe environment.
  8. Complete required training programs and certifications.
  9. Support departmental improvement initiatives and teamwork.
  10. Safely deliver and retrieve food trays while following protocols.
  11. Interact responsibly with patients, visitors, and staff, addressing concerns.
  12. Adhere to hospital policies and promote a cooperative work environment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in English and able to follow instructions.
  • Adaptable to department needs with a focus on customer service.
  • Comfortable entering patient rooms and interacting with diverse individuals.
  • Willing to work weekends and holidays.

Work Environment:

  • Work in kitchen, dining, and retail areas.
  • Exposure to wet floors and sharp equipment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
