Overview

MRI Simulation Technologist needed to coordinate and perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures for treatment planning and follow-up procedures by utilizing equipment and computers, employing techniques and procedures in accordance with accepted age appropriate standards of practice. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of field strength and practice of safe entry into the magnetic field. 

Position Highlights:

  • Schedule: Full time (40 hours), weekdays
  • Location: Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC

What You'll Need:

  • Associate's degree (or Two-Year Professional Program) from an AMA School of Radiological Technology with Magnetic Resonance Imaging Certification required. 
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) in MRI required. 
  • CPR certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required. 
  • Ability to communicate on a professional level with physicians, physicists, nurses, and other health care providers Computer skills a must 

What You'll Do:

  1. Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building. 
  2. Maintains working knowledge of variations in current protocols, imaging techniques and patient safety. 
  3. Maintains simulation and treatment schedules to ensure efficient, appropriate patient care. 
  4. Performs simulations to ensure optimal patient set up for delivery of prescribed radiation treatments. 
  5. Maintains files and compiles records according to procedure as required for accurate and current departmental records and/or reports. 
  6. Provides/promotes patient/significant other education in order to maximize patient compliance with his/her plan of care. 
  7. Takes responsibility for maintaining updated knowledge and skills. 
  8. Maintains supplies and equipment to promote a positive working environment. 
  9. Provides age-developmental appropriate care in accordance with Age/Development Specific Guidelines for the age groups served when participating in patient care.
