JOB SUMMARY

The National Center for Clinical Trials (NCCT) is designed to serve as an innovative platform to revolutionize and catalyze the conduct of clinical trials−greatly accelerating the translation of scientific findings into improvements in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease for our communities and patients. The NCCT will offer core services for patient recruitment and enrollment, trial administration and follow-up, and to gather real world data and evidence.

The Clinical Trial Methods Center (CTMC) has been established within the Wake Forest University School of Medicine to provide the necessary tools and expertise that the NCCT will access and apply to deliver many of its core services. 

This position will be part of a team that oversees recruitment planning activities for clinical trials and research studies associated with the CTMC/NCCT, will report to the Program Director for Clinical Trial Recruitment in the CTMC and will be responsible for development and design of study-specific outreach plans. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 of years of experience in marketing, business, or communications; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience in a media-rich environment. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Oversees the planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of assigned projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to sponsor requirements.
  2. Prepares periodic analyses and reports, identifies potential issues and risks, and implements improvements as needed.
  3. Assumes responsibility for program outcomes, supervises support personnel, and manages data for quality reporting and operational initiatives.
  4. Arranges and facilitates team meetings, promotes a cooperative work environment, and attends meetings to provide and gather information.
  5. Provides project leadership for digital initiatives, working closely with internal stakeholders to develop and execute plans.
  6. Assesses initial specifications and estimates for future projects, manages resources, and prepares and manages project budgets.
  7. Formulates and monitors project plans and schedules, providing progress reports and analytics.
  8. Develop relationships and collaborate with research leaders and teams to ensure alignment of goals.
  9. Directs efforts of project team members, including contracted vendors.
  10. Develops and produces digital content, establishes best practices for online calls-to-action, and reviews web content for standards compliance.
  11. Manages recruitment strategies, creates and compiles recruitment content, and oversees outreach tactics and social media campaigns.
  12. Sources images and artwork, occasionally performing image editing or graphic design to support content messages.
  13. Reviews web content at multiple stages of development for conformance to standards for information architecture, editorial style, usability, branding appropriateness, and visual appeal.
  14. Tracks and resolves production and social media comments and issues.
  15. Recommends and implements recruitment outreach tactics and collaborates with study teams to finalize activation plans.
  16. Analyzes outreach processes to establish best practices and assess emerging tools.
  17. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Thorough knowledge of clinical trial recruitment techniques.
  • Experience navigating clinical trial recruitment policies and regulations, preferably within an academic medical center. 
  • Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of basic Web production and scripting tools; experience working with a content management system
  • Knowledge of and experience with social media properties (esp. Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook)
  • Strong project and process management skills
  • Additional software skills (MS Project, MS Office, MS SharePoint, Google Analytics, Adobe Photoshop/Adobe suite)
  • Ability to thrive in a challenging and collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to achieve results with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to build a consensus and work effectively with individuals and teams at all levels of the organization
