Overview

Job Summary:
Performs preventive maintenance and technical repairs for building systems, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and life safety systems. Ensures compliance with safety standards, maintains documentation, and provides 24/7 on-call support, including weekends and holidays.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain hospital, lab, and office spaces according to safety codes.
  2. Perform and document preventive maintenance tasks.
  3. Diagnose and repair issues with electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems.
  4. Install new building fixtures and finishes for renovations.
  5. Maintain refrigeration systems and medical gas systems.
  6. Operate utility equipment like generators, chillers, and boilers.
  7. Use building automation systems to monitor and troubleshoot conditions.
  8. Test and repair fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and fire doors.
  9. Read blueprints and manuals to complete assignments.
  10. Communicate effectively with staff to address service needs.
  11. Procure and manage maintenance supplies and parts.
  12. Complete required training on safety and engineering procedures.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to temperature extremes, noise, dirt, and dust.
  • Work on elevated surfaces like ladders and roofs.
  • Requires use of personal protective equipment.
  • Availability for 24/7 on-call shifts at any location.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Lifting up to 100 lbs as needed.
