Job Summary
Knowledgeable and competent in the handling of positron emitting radiopharmaceuticals, computers, and scintillation detection equipment. Operates both Nuclear Medicine and PET equipment to obtain diagnostic images or measurements of pharmaceutical distribution in specified body areas.
Essential Functions
Physical Requirements
This position requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment and supplies up to 600 pounds with assistance. May be required to stretch, bend, twist, squat and kneel in performing Diagnostic procedures. Vision and hearing for distances of at least 20 feet is necessary. Able to carry weights of up to 25 pounds while moving film jackets, supplies or equipment to work areas. Significant walking will be required as approximately 50% of work time will be standing. 50% of work time will be operating computers, monitors, survey meters and other equipment requiring manual dexterity and use of the hands. Precision manual dexterity required for venipuncture and radiopharmaceutical administration.
Education, Experience and Certifications
High School Diploma or GED required. Successful completion of AMA approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program required. Registered with NMTCB or ARRT (N) required. Nuclear Medicine Technology experience and PET Experience preferred. Proficiency in computer, radiation physics, and tomographic imaging highly preferred. BLS required per policy guidelines.
