Job Profile Summary
Ensures Atrium Health's assigned state's Hospital compliance to assigned State and US federal government mandated community health and community benefit reporting requirements. Manages the timeline, workflow and projects of the system-level Community Health Leadership Council. Manages the activities of the hospital community health leaders to ensure completion of hospital-specific federally mandated Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) reports, implementation plans, and progress reports. Responsible for website posting and federally filing of same in fully edited and approved order. Responsible for reporting Atrium Health’s community health program and activity costs for assigned state's Hospitals that are incorporated into Atrium Health’s assigned state Community Benefits Report that is provided annually to the Office of the assigned state's Attorney General.
Major Responsibilities:
- Manages all projects and functions of the tri-annual comprehensive CHNA work of all assigned state's hospitals to ensure alignment with the federal Patient Protection and Accountable Care Act including completion of Internal Revenue Service Form 990-Schedules H and O.
- Ensures development of a standardized template for reporting the tri-annual CHNA work to the public. This includes project managing community health staff and system media center staff as the content is drafted and edited, and the system web team to load the CHNA reports and implementation plans to Atrium Health’s website.
- Develops and manages system CHNA timeline for assigned state's hospitals three-year assessment, reporting and outcomes measurement cycle.
- Manages tracking and reporting of legacy Atrium's community benefit programs and services to ensure alignment with the assigned state's Community Benefits Act and the federal Patient Protection and Accountable Care Act Internal Revenue Service Form 990-Schedules H and O.
- Leads education/reporting software training sessions for all Atrium entities to ensure optimal and accurate reporting of community benefit.
- Develops training for community benefit reporters and develop community benefit training handbook.
- Manages the process for developing and maintaining the Atrium “Community Benefits Plan” on a three-year planning cycle, including program description and outcomes updates as provided for inclusion in the Community Benefits Report annually submitted to the assigned state's Attorney General’s office.
- Convenes and facilitates Community Benefits Task Force comprised of Advocate managers, directors and vice presidents representing the departments of growth and strategy, finance, community health, communications, research, foundation and mission and spiritual care to review and update Atrium's system community benefits plan.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, or
- Bachelor's Degree in Community Health or related field.
- Experience Required:
- Typically requires 5 years of experience in Public Health, Healthcare, Project Management, Database and/or Report Management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects designed to meet federal requirements for community health needs assessment including public reporting.
- Proven ability to establish and support community benefits reporting for a health system.
- Proven ability to deliver high quality reports and communication to internal and external constituencies.
- Demonstrated ability to provide counsel on community benefits reporting to senior and middle management.
- Demonstrated ability to provide education and software training to ensure widespread community benefits reporting.
- In depth awareness of trends and issues related to health care industry.
- Ability to travel throughout Advocate Aurora assigned state's service areas to provide training and education to sites.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
