Overview

It currently offers educational programs leading to the attainment of a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), the BSN-DNP Nurse Anesthesia Program, and the Post-Masters DNP Program. This faculty member will be responsible for delivering foundational lectures, providing simulation training, and guiding the Department of Academic Nursing students' Scholarly Projects, as determined by the department chair.
Essential Functions
- Serves as course faculty of record to include course management, coordination, learning assessment and development and delivery of didactic lectures or simulation content.
- Cross teaches in other courses, as assigned.
- Design and implement simulation based educational training as needed.
- Provide guidance for student Scholarly Projects, as assigned.
- Serve as advisor for assigned students including conduction of summative evaluation conferences, as assigned
- Develop and administer course exams.
- Serve on committees related to nursing education.
- Works collaboratively with all Department of Academic Nursing teammates.
- Other assignments as directed by the Department Chair.
Education, Experience and Certifications.
- Unencumbered RN licensure in the state of North Carolina required.
- Doctorate in nursing (e.g., DNP or PhD) required.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing or specialty nursing experience required.
- Prior faculty experience, preferred.
- Specialty certification required to teach in a educational specialty track, required (i.e., CRNA for nurse anesthesia specialty, AGACNP for adult gerontological acute care nurse practitioner, etc.)
