Overview

Atrium Health Navicent is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pediatric Operating Room team. As a member of our pediatric surgery team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional nursing care to children undergoing surgical procedures. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young patients and their families while working in a state-of-the-art pediatric surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients before, during, and after surgery.
  • Assist in the preparation of the operating room by ensuring that sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and vital signs during surgery, responding promptly to any changes.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical staff to ensure safe and effective procedures.
  • Educate patients and their families about post-operative care, recovery plans, and follow-up.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Adhere to all hospital and safety protocols, including infection control measures.
  • Support children and families emotionally, offering comfort and reassurance during the surgical process.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in the state of Georgia.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a pediatric surgical setting or operating room preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric anatomy and medical conditions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
