Wake Forest University School of Medicine (WFUSM) is expanding its Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) and is hiring a dynamic Program Director for Faculty Development to lead innovative faculty development programs. JOB SUMMARY:

The Program Director for Faculty Development will have a dual report to the Assistant Vice President of Faculty Affairs and the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Experience and Success, and they will work collaboratively to develop and implement innovative programs that:

•             Attract and retain a world-class faculty to WFUSM 

•             Equip faculty to succeed in academic promotion 

•             Provide faculty development and leadership training at every career stage 

•             Offer mentoring, coaching, and sponsorship to faculty throughout their careers

•             Create initiatives to value, elevate, and recognize faculty

•             Foster a values-driven culture that that promotes inclusive excellence, belonging, character, and flourishing

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and implement faculty development programs that includes budgetary oversight, creation of content, and submission of progress reports to various leaders and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the programs and implement improvements as needed.
  • Prepare and present reports on program activities, outcomes, and financial status to leaders and stakeholders.
  • Lead the preparation, submission, and management of OFA-driven institutional grant awards being submitted to support faculty development programs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance OFA faculty development resource allocation and service delivery.
  • Develop strong relationships with department level faculty development leaders to ensure alignment of WFUSM goals with Advocate health system goals.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to clinical and investigator faculty, leadership team, staff, funding agencies, and community partners.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across various Wake Forest University schools (e.g., business school, law school).
  • Contribute to the strategic planning process for the OFA providing insights and recommendations based on program performance.
  • Represent the OFA in meetings, conferences, and other professional activities.
  • May supervise the work and manage performance of assigned staff or of consultants.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Master’s or other advanced degree with two years of progressive and applicable experience in the area to be served.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of program development and implementation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong project and process management skills knowledge of program/project development and management techniques and methods
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding knowledge of data analysis, reporting, and budgeting
  • Excellent knowledge of all MS Office applications, Adobe, and other program development software applications
  • Ability to achieve results with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytic skills
