Overview

Job Summary:

Collaborates with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality nutritional care. Assesses and addresses the nutritional needs of patients across all age groups and cultural backgrounds, tailoring care based on specific health conditions.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required.
  • Licensure by the NC Board of Dietetics/Nutrition required.
  • Clinical dietitian experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assess patients’ nutritional needs and provide evidence-based care.
  2. Participate in interdisciplinary clinical rounds.
  3. Stay updated on current research to ensure quality care.
  4. Support continuous improvement of patient care and hospital goals.
  5. Educate patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on nutrition.
  6. Provide age-appropriate care for all patient groups.
  7. Offer specialized care and documentation for transplant and outpatient patients.
  8. Collaborate to reduce no-shows and improve clinic efficiency.
  9. Uphold hospital policies and foster a cooperative work environment.
  10. Demonstrate commitment to customer service and effective communication.
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with medical teams, patients, and staff.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
Work Environment:
  • Clean, comfortable, and moderately noisy.
  • May involve stressful situations.
Physical Requirements:
  • Standing/Walking: Frequent (35–65%).
  • Sitting: Occasional (up to 35%).
  • Bending/Reaching: Occasional.
