RN (Registered Nurse) | Patient Advocate Oncology Outreach

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Oncology team as a Patient Advocate Nurse. In this role, you will serve as a critical liaison between patients and their care team, ensuring that patients understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and receive the support they need throughout their cancer journey. Your advocacy will help empower patients, improve communication, and optimize their care experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personalized patient education on oncology-related diagnoses, treatments, and procedures.
• Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to address concerns and ensure effective communication.
• Assist patients in navigating the healthcare system, including scheduling appointments, managing resources, and ensuring access to care.
• Advocate for patient needs, including psychosocial support, financial assistance, and access to community resources.
• Help coordinate care plans by facilitating communication between interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide emotional support to patients and their families throughout their cancer treatment process.
• Address patient and family concerns, escalating issues as needed to ensure resolution.
• Assist in the development of educational materials and support groups to aid in the oncology care process.
• Monitor patient satisfaction and help implement quality improvement initiatives within the oncology department.

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Georgia
• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) or ONN-CG (Oncology Nurse Navigator-Certified Generalist) 
• One (1) year clinical oncology specialization
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for patient advocacy
• Ability to provide emotional support to patients and families in challenging situations
• Knowledge of cancer treatment modalities, patient care, and oncology-specific resources
• Familiarity with healthcare systems, patient rights, and community resources
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
