Job Summary

The Research Instructor will design experiments and conduct research projects with other team members with minimal supervision. Develop research ideas and plans, conduct experiments, analyze and prepare data for publication and presentation. Write protocols, abstracts, and manuscripts for publication, and assist in preparation of grant applications.



Essential Functions
 

  • Perform cell preparations and cultures; maintain cell lines, treat, harvest, and analyze cell cultures and/or suitable animal tissues, including human tissues.
  • Perform analyze using biochemical techniques.
  • Establish database management system.
  • Produce abstracts and manuscripts for publication and presentation at scientific meetings.
  • Assist with preparation of grant applications.
  • Assist in the development of new methodology in sample preparation, and analysis of samples for molecular and biochemical analyses.
  • Instruct and train other laboratory employees in the use of the laboratory instruments, equipment, and techniques.
  • Coordinate with other researchers.

 

Physical Requirements
 

 

Involves long periods of sitting or standing and some walking. Occasional lifting of documents, supplies, equipment, solutions and chemicals required.



Education, Experience and Certifications
 

PhD in relevant field required.

 

Preferred:  PhD in Chemistry of Biological science. Significant post-doctoral experience. Experience in nano-particle synthesis for drug delivery.
