Overview

Job Summary: This position will be responsible for phone customer service and processing of the financial assistance program applications.  The job candidate should have strong organizational skills and ability to manage and analyze data to determine eligibility.  Maintaining patient lists and assisting the pharmacies if there are issues with processing claims for these patients.  Organization and accuracy are of utmost importance.

How You’ll Impact Patient Care:

  • Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for validating purchase orders, tracking down receiving slips and properly compiling all forms needed to process medication invoices for payment. 
  • Responsible for monitoring and providing solutions for items within the EPIC Pharmacy work queues. 
  • Assists with revenue reconciliation between purchases for specific areas in the hospital and what is reported in the EPIC billing file. 
  • Responsible for various financial reporting duties relating to medication expense, payment of invoices, and proper coding to expense accounts. Responsible for metric and statistical compilations on a routine basis. 
  • Evaluates and maintains the medication cost that is reported in McKesson with what is charged in EPIC. Responsible for receiving the medications purchased into the IDB system for proper month-end accounting. Responsible for making any price changes necessary within EPIC to keep the costing structure current. 
  • Responsible for monitoring, tracking, and billing the department and affiliate charges for inventory transferred from on-campus locations. 
  • Responsible for working with billing and clinic personnel to evaluate pharmacy billing issues and corrects in EPIC if needed. 
  • Prepares month-end financial information for reporting to financial management regarding pharmacy medication costs, etc. 
  • Assists with MacroHelix utilization, maintenance and reporting. 
  • Prepares metric and financial spreadsheets to monitor savings opportunities, etc. 

What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with five years related experience. 

Nice To Have (Not Required)

  • Associate degree in a healthcare or business-related field preferred.
  • Proficient with calculator, PC, fax, and copy machine. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Self-motivated.
