Overview

Job Summary:
Acts as a liaison between patient care teams and Information Services to support, implement, and optimize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and other healthcare technologies. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and monitoring technology use to improve patient care processes.

Education/Experience:

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing or healthcare-related clinical field.
  • 3 years of clinical or informatics experience required.

Licensure/Certification:

  • BSN required for nurses, with an active RN license.
  • Certification or proficiency in one core Epic module required within 6 months of hire; ongoing certifications may be required.

Essential Functions:

  1. Acts as a liaison between clinicians, facility leadership, and Information Services.
  2. Supports EMR and technology planning, design, implementation, and optimization.
  3. Monitors adoption, analyzes trends, and coordinates corrective actions.
  4. Leads change efforts, including communication, readiness, and education.
  5. Documents current/future workflows and aligns builds with clinical standards.
  6. Educates clinicians on EMR use and offers ongoing support.
  7. Helps develop strategies, manage change, and ensure best practices.
  8. Participates as an informatics expert on facility and corporate projects.
  9. Maintains knowledge of clinical workflows and assesses change impact.
  10. Stays current with EMR functionality, healthcare trends, and regulatory requirements.
  11. Attends informatics conferences and events.
  12. Travels as needed between sites.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, and workflow documentation.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent interaction with all personnel levels.
