Pharmacy Distribution Clerk, Specialty Pharmacy Operations

Overview

The Pharmacy Distribution Clerk assists with Specialty and Mail Order Pharmacy teams by participating in a variety of delivery modes, such as shipping, courier and cash register sales. This clerk will be responsible for scanning prescriptions into an online shipping software, generating shipping labels and finalizing prescriptions for shipment. The clerk will also work with packing medications for delivery by the courier team(s) and interact directly with customers by gathering information, ringing sales on the cash register, accepting payment, and providing a high level of customer care and service. The Pharmacy Distribution Clerk is also responsible for assembling shipping material, and organizing and stocking supplies within the pharmacy.

• 1st shift (hours may vary), M-F w/ HOL rotation, no weekends

How You’ll Impact Patient Care:

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Gathers patient information, provides accurate answers to inquiries, processes payments, and expresses gratitude to all customers.
• Inputs necessary data into the computer system in compliance with legal requirements and follows all cash handling policies and procedures.
• Answers incoming calls and directs callers to the appropriate personnel as necessary.
• Holds responsibility for the upkeep of the pharmacy’s front end, aiding in the maintenance of stocks to ensure the availability of quality pharmaceutical products & supplies.
• Adheres to general pharmacy standards to promote a cooperative work environment through effective communication and team building. 
• Contributes to the planning process by setting personal goals that support efforts for quality improvement and the attainment of departmental objectives.
• Demonstrates a commitment to quality improvement within the Pharmacy Department and adheres to the philosophy and the principles of Total Quality.
• Proactively takes the initiative for professional growth and development. 

What You Will Need 

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Nice To Have (Not Required) 

• 1-2 years’ retail pharmacy experience preferred.
