Overview
Primary Purpose
The Cybersecurity Enterprise Principal (AVP level) reports directly to our Chief Information Security Officer and will provide direction, guidance, and support to identify emerging cyber technologies and assist with overall cyber readiness for the entire enterprise. Provides project oversight, budgeting, and coordination of cyber related solutions across IT and outside business partners. Works directly with the CISO, cybersecurity leaders, and IT leaders to improve, identify, and add new security controls.
This is a primarily remote role with flexibility for system travel as needed.
Major Responsibilities
- Works independently, with cybersecurity leaders, senior leaders within IT, and outside business partners to lead complex efforts to identify new cybersecurity solutions from the incubator stage to fully adopted by the enterprise. These may include emerging technologies in Artificial Intelligence, Hardware Security Keys, Disaster Recovery for cyber, advanced email, next generation endpoint security, out of band communications, and other projects or duties defined by management. Must ensure approval through various committees, including external committees, and ensuring all processes are followed.
- Mastery skill level of cybersecurity regulatory, technology, and operational requirements and offers solutions to address any identified requirements as well as oversee implementation of key projects with downstream business units.
- Will be a designated leader during incident response and directs team members accordingly. Must work with other departments to improve overall cyber readiness and act as a champion for cyber resiliency. This includes development of new concepts to provide services during catastrophic downtime events.
- Provides cybersecurity training and performs presentations to any size audience, including committees and IT leaders, and external groups on cybersecurity topics.
Is the subject matter expert for all cybersecurity services and solutions and provides guidance and education to cyber teammates to improve overall cybersecurity knowledge while increasing the effectiveness of existing solutions within the licensing requirements.
- Maintains confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the computing environment and enforces the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Works on complex investigations with sensitive information and engages with Privacy, the Legal Department, and law enforcement, where directed by leadership.
Remote role with occasional travel required throughout the system.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field. Continuing education including Cybersecurity certifications highly desirable.
Certification / Registration / License
Work Experience: 10 years IT experience specializing in Cybersecurity to include at least 5 years of people or large scale project leadership experience. Prefer candidates with over 15 years in Cybersecurity and overall 20 years in IT.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint. Personal computers, laptops, servers, appliances, smart devices and associated equipment.
- Mastery of cybersecurity frameworks, architectures, new technologies, and disciplines.
- Mastery in troubleshooting, reasoning, and using problem solving skills to offer solutions to complex problems and ability to educate other teammates including Senior IT Leadership and Business Leaders. Ability to work individually or as part of a team and to direct other teams’ work product to achieve desired outcomes. This includes engagement with senior leaders within the organization to gain support for new cybersecurity technologies.
- Must be able to multi-task and adapt to rapidly changing priorities in a dynamic work environment while producing quality results with no supervision while interacting with and providing updates to cybersecurity leadership and/or other IT leaders.
- Mastery of and in-depth experience in security technologies which may include, but is not limited to, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Vulnerability Scanners, Firewalls, VPNs, Proxies, Secure Email Gateways, Endpoint Detection and Response, Data Loss Prevention, Exact Data Matching, Medical Device Management and IoT Solutions, risk management platforms, eDiscovery, Dark Web Monitoring, Remote Access Technologies, and Cloud Security.
- Mastery of and in-depth experience of security protocols and standards including, but not limited to, SFTP, TLS, SSH, AES, etc.
- Ability to communicate difficult cybersecurity and IT related tasks to all levels of leadership inside and outside of IT.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
This position requires occasional travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
Exposed to a normal office environment.
Must be available for callback support on a regular basis including travel to facilities located in various states. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Extensive evening and weekend hours may be required during incidents, major project go-lives, or during downtimes.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift and carry objects up to 40 pounds.
