Overview
Job Summary
Plans, organizes and directs all aspects of Neurodiagnostic Services across the Metro facilities and as determined by Neurosciences Leadership. Oversees personnel administration, budget development and control, patient care management, compliance with standards set for by regulatory organizations, and integration of the departmental activities.
Essential Functions
- Develops and maintains the departmental budget for each department.
- Coordinates and integrates with interdepartmental and intradepartmental services.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures that guides and supports the provisions of the services provided. Performs annual review of all procedures and updates as needed.
- Manages staffing based on needs of the program across the Metro.
- Provides continuous assessment and management of Performance Improvement in regards to Neurodiagnostics.
- Manages and adheres to productivity standards set for the department.
- Maintains quality control and infection control programs as appropriate.
- Maintains team member records and adheres to System guidelines for human relations in dealing with teammates, patients, visitors and physicians.
- Works closely with Chief Technologists and other teammates to ensure proper orientation, training, and appropriate continuing education are provided.
- Maintains Joint Commission and other regulatory organizations standards.
- Maintains inventory of all equipment and control of all supplies in each department, and assures that equipment is maintained in operational condition.
- Maintains communications with Information Services, Nursing, Ancillary departments and Physicians (others as necessary).
Physical Requirements
Must speak good, clear basic English. Requires repetitive physical activity. Must be able to walk, sit and stand to perform duties. Adequate hearing and eyesight is necessary. Exposure to a working environment that may include odors, low lighting, and crowded working conditions. Will require driving to Metro hospitals routinely.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree required. 5 years of clinical care experience required, 2 years in leadership preferred. Registered as Electroencephalography Technologist by the American board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists or Licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse required. BLS certification required. Must demonstrate highly effective communication skills with patients, families, physicians, visitors and other health care team members.
