Overview
Essential Functions:
• Directs and executes multiple, concurrent projects independent of or with little supervision from leadership.
• Manages the process to accomplish the evaluation of the request for service to understand business and technical open issues to be clarified with the client.
• Works in collaboration with clients to thoroughly understand the business needs, project scope, and anticipated deliverable associated with the request for service.
• Manages the on-going interface with the client to develop analytic approaches to the request.
• Understands and drives the development of specific population definitions to meet the needs of the project.
• Recommends to the client and department, processes to balance the data needs for the project against the urgency and requirements for action.
• Understands the context of the requested data and reports with other initiatives to develop sustainable solutions.
• Reviews and approves the process used to translate the defined business needs to a set of meaningful metrics and analytics
• Provides value-added analysis and recommended follow up actions in support of the business needs
• Manages the process to integrate data from multiple sources to a single dataset for analysis
• Manages the review and validation of complex, custom datasets specific to the project
• Recommends to the client, a method of delivering results from the project to meet current and on- going needs
• Manages the preparation of deliverables for client review and facilitates data discussion and interpretation
• Manages the development of simple to complex reports utilizing various Business Intelligence tools.
• Develops data variables, collection processes standards and data dictionaries.
• Educates clients in clinical and financial operational concepts and their relationship to data.
• Consults with clients to create methods to quantify key elements of their operational performance within the limitations of available data sources.
• Guides clients through known and potential data issues, taking into consideration all data collection inconsistencies and inaccuracies in the source system.
• Facilitates and serves as a resource for the development and implementation of action plans for process and practice improvements.
• Manages multiple complex projects.
• Performs routine triage of proposed projects and recommends priority level
• Mentors, trains, and develops team members on analysis approach, reporting skills, and data validation and provides input to performance review.
• Identifies best practices and project efficiencies
• Works with IT and technical team members to identify and to resolve data issues.
• Supports other projects and initiatives as assigned.
Education, Training, and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in health-related fields or Registered Nurse and two (2) years’ experience in health- related field required.
• Experience with healthcare data in a healthcare organization strongly preferred.
• Thoroughly understands the elements of registries and databases relevant to assigned projects and identifies data integrity issues using complex analysis of the data.
• Communicates effectively in verbal, written, and electronic formats with teammates, supervisors, department heads, and all clients using appropriate terminology and grammar.
• Proficiency using computer software tools and Windows operating system.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Strong ability to apply the principles and practices of data management.
• Ability to work effectively and independently manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to analyze and solve issues and problems.
• Ability to initiate and follow through on projects of both short- and long-term duration.
Other Job Requirements, Licenses, Certifications:
• Certification in Healthcare Quality, Patient Safety or related Accreditation entity recommended.
Physical Requirements:
• Works in an office environment which requires walking, standing, and long periods of sitting and computer use.
• Surveillance work requires walking throughout the facility.
• Occasionally requires carrying up to twenty-five (25) pounds of materials (files, laptop, etc.,).
• Travels to AHN Facilities in personal vehicle as needed.
• Must have a current Ga. Driver’s License.
• Requires the ability to work rapidly and accurately under pressure, to work in a safe and effective manner, and to handle different issues and priorities simultaneously.
• Can clearly communicate verbally, in person, and in writing.
• Must possess a strong sense of urgency and make sound decision within limited time frame
• Carries out responsibilities in a professional manner always, as well as possesses ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other teammates on an individual and team basis.
