Overview
Job Summary: The Pharmacy Clerk interacts with customers in gathering information, ringing sales on the cash register, accepting payment, and providing a high level of customer care and service. The Pharmacy Clerk is also responsible for maintaining and stocking the front end of the pharmacy. May also be asked to participate in discharge pharmacy services through bedside delivery.

How You’ll Impact Patient Care:
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Gathers patient information, provides accurate answers to inquiries, processes payments, and expresses gratitude to all customers.
- Inputs necessary data into the computer system in compliance with legal requirements and follows all cash handling policies and procedures.
- Answers incoming calls and directs callers to the appropriate personnel as necessary.
- Holds responsibility for the upkeep of the pharmacy’s front end, aiding in the maintenance of stocks to ensure the availability of quality pharmaceutical products & supplies.
- Adheres to general pharmacy standards to promote a cooperative work environment through effective communication and team building.
- Contributes to the planning process by setting personal goals that support efforts for quality improvement and the attainment of departmental objectives.
- Demonstrates a commitment to quality improvement within the Pharmacy Department and adheres to the philosophy and the principles of Total Quality.
- Proactively takes the initiative for professional growth and development.
What You Will Need
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Nice To Have (Not Required)
- 1-2 years’ retail pharmacy experience preferred.
