Explore an opportunity with the Wake Forest Health Network Infections Disease – High Point practice located in High Point, North CarolinaThe Wake Forest Health Network is a physician-led, non-faculty multispecialty group practice affiliated with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. We are actively seeking talented Physicians specializing in Infectious Disease to join our dynamic and collaborative practice. As part of a highly regarded health system, you will work alongside a dedicated healthcare team to deliver outstanding care to patients facing a wide range of infectious diseases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive care for patients with infectious diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Conduct patient assessments, diagnostics, and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to manage complex cases and coordinate patient care.
  • Educate patients and families on disease prevention, treatments, and medications.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in infectious disease care.

Key Highlights:

  • Primarily inpatient consultations
  • Outpatient antibiotic management
  • No HIV or Hepatitis B cases

Schedule: 

  • Inpatient on-call: 2 days per week (Primary)
  • Office time: 1.5 days per week, depending on the schedule
  • Additional time: Spent rounding in the hospital on patients seen during Primary call

What You’ll Do: 

Physicians work to care for patients in a variety of ways, from treating chronic illnesses to advising about preventative healthcare. While physician specialties might vary, the commonality across specialties is that physicians primarily work to diagnose and treat injuries and illnesses. They often do this by performing physical exams, taking medical histories, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests, and recommending a plan of treatment. 

Physician Requirements: 

  • Graduation from an accredited medical school as a M.D./D.O.
  • Successful completion of residency and fellowship at an accredited healthcare institution. 
  • Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License as a current M.D./D.O.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certification in Infectious Disease. 
  • Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) required. 
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing required.
